HISD Board Meets Tonight

The HISD Board of Trustees will meet this evening at six at the Hawkins Administration Building for a regular meeting.

The Board will recognize students and staff.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes approval of a resolution for the Annual Historic Site Property Tax Exemption of the Samuel Walker Museum & Cultural Center, authorizing HISD to participate in the PACE purchasing cooperative, amending of the agreement for the District’s Child Nutrition Program, approval of the missed instructional day waiver for March 4th, 2014 and approval of the YMCA 2014 Summer Program Agreement.

Other agenda item considerations include, Board approval of the 2013-14 Texas Online Preparatory School K-12 Budget, weight room equipment purchases and the 2014-15 compensation plan.

Trustees will hear a report on the HISD Summer Programs, the K-12 report, the Acoustical Engineer Report for Huntsville High School, a report on Child Nutrition: New Point of Sale System and a report on a pending site visit from the Texas Education Agency.

Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson will file an update on School Finance Litigation.
