According to the local SHSU Houstonian newspaper a toxicology report from the Montgomery County Forensic Services Department found that 19-year-old Blanca Espinal, the driver in a December car accident on the SHSU campus which killed two others, had a blood alcohol content “almost three times the legal limit.” Evidence of marijuana use was also found in her system.

Other victims of the accident include 22-year-old Eric Torres, and 20-year-old Alfanso Mata, both SHSU students. Twenty-two-year-old Thomas Roling, who survived, was taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the accident is still underway by the University Police Department.
