According to information released from New Waverly ISD Superintendent Darol Hail Wednesday, a call was received at the elementary school Tuesday in reference to a male juvenile who was reported to be a runaway.
Hail said, that the young person was thought to be “in possible possession of a weapon.”
Personnel at New Waverly ISD were told to lock all outside doors and remain on alert. No problems were encountered, and classes were dismissed at the regular time.
The guardian of the juvenile in the case had reported a missing handgun from their home in New Waverly. Walker County Sheriff’s Deputies located the juvenile at a local fast food restaurant in New Waverly. He wasn’t carrying any weapons and was returned to his guardian.
