Published on July 11, 2014 by Larry Crippen

A 45-year-old New Waverly man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the arm following a target-shooting accident Wednesday.

The man was walking through the woods on his property on FM 1375 East near New Waverly when the bullet from a 14-year-old boy’s gun next door accidentally stuck the man.

Walker County Sheriff’s Detective Tom Bean said the man has been released from the hospital and is expected to fully recover.
