At this week’s Huntsville City Council session councilmembers, in a “First Reading,” considered changing the local pawn shop regulations for hours open to conform with state law.
Present local law allows pawnshops to be open from 7 AM to 7 PM and to stay closed on Sunday. The state law, and likely new city law, would let local pawn shops be open “no earlier than 7 AM and no later than 9 PM and to be open on Sundays.
Local owner of EZ Pawn, Leonard Davis, was in favor of the change . . . .
The council will next meet to consider the ordinance on July 15th.
