In Huntsville Police news, on the day shift last Thursday a residential burglary was investigated in the 3000 block of Sam Houston Avenue. Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of Summer Lane in regard to a case where a known suspect was forging checks. A commercial burglary was reported in the 2900 block of Old Houston Road.

On the day shift Friday, a known suspect was reported to have stolen a firearm in the 2700 block of 11th Street. Twenty-five-year-old Shelton Freeman was arrested at Johnson and Old Colony Road for a County warrant, municipal warrants, evading arrest and failure to ID as a fugitive.

On the night shift Sunday, police were dispatched to the 200 block of FM 247 for an indecency with a child offense.

On the day shift Monday, police investigated a residential burglary in the 100 block of Vista Way. Twenty-five-year-old Elvis Kelley was arrested in the 900 block of Birmingham on 13 municipal court warrants. In the 2200 block of Bobby K Marks Drive, 51-year-old Charlie Brown, Jr. was arrested for burglary of a habitation and on a warrant from New Mexico for a probation violation on aggravated assault.
