In Huntsville Police news, on the day shift Friday a child was left unattended by guardians in the 200 block of I-45 South–CID and CPS were contacted. On Louis Davis Drive, a known suspect entered a residence for a burglary and assaulted people at the residence. At the intersection of Hazel Avenue and State Highway 30 East, 28-year-old Jessica Monk was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 and possession penalty group 3. At the same address,  20-year-old Chad Haynes was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3.

On the night shift Friday, a residential burglary was investigated in the 900 block of University Drive.

On the day shift Saturday, a person was detained for a mental health evaluation in the 2400 block of Settlers Way. In the 900 block of 11th Street, 23-year-old Dominique Brown was arrested for commercial burglary.

On the night shift Saturday, police investigated an assault by a known suspect resulting in injury in the 300 block of Highway 190. A second assault by an unknown suspect was investigated in the 2700 block of Montgomery Road. Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Avenue R where a known person overdosed on prescription medication.

On the night shift Sunday, in the 400 block of 13th Street 26-year-old Don Archie was arrested for criminal trespass.
