Supreme Court Rejects Emergency Request On Photo-ID Voting Law

Saturday, the U-S Supreme Court ruled that Texas can use its Photo-ID Voter Identification law for this November’s election.

A majority of Supreme Court Justices decided to reject an emergency request from civil rights organizations and the Justice Department to stop the State of Texas from requiring voters to have a specified photo I-D to vote.

Dissenting Justices were Ruth Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
