Tea Party Candidate Forum Monday Night

Published on January 21, 2014 by Larry Crippen

The Sam Houston Tea Party held a forum to meet candidates in the upcoming elections at the Veterans Conference Center last night. Local Walker County candidates introduced themselves to the good turnout of supporters.

Sam Houston Tea Party officials Linda Thompson and Tom O’leinik commented on Tea Party positions on various U-S government issues. The Tea Party is concerned about the current direction the government is moving in in areas like abortion, the second amendment, immigration, taxes, parental rights in education, health care and private property rights.

The featured speakers for the evening were Republican candidate for District 14 State House of Representatives Terry Holcomb and District 8 Republican candidate for U-S House of Representatives Craig McMichael.

Terry Holcomb felt the Tea Party was greatly helping to influence the present political situation . . . .
