Tuesday afternoon, 41-year-old Benson Milton of Walker County was arrested for evading arrest after he crashed his vehicle during a pursuit by law enforcement on Dorrell Road.
It all started on Tuesday morning when HPD was summoned to the parole office in regard to a person who had a warrant out for their arrest for violating their parole.
Before HPD arrived, Milton had run out the door. Sheriff’s deputies went to Milton’s residence on Geneva Road and saw him trying to leave in his vehicle. Deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped off east down Highway 190. Eventually, on Dorrell road Milton crashed his car into a ditch and took off on foot.
DPS and sheriff’s deputies pursued Milton on foot and were able to take him into custody.
On Tuesday afternoon, Milton was transported to Huntsville Memorial for observation and was expected to be booked into jail later to be held without bond for violating parole.
