The fifth Annual Wounded Warriors Banquet took place at the Walker County Fairgrounds last night.

Over 1,100 local area citizens showed up to help raise funds for the Warrior and Family Support Center in San Antonio.

Lt. Col. David Yebra was the emcee for the event. Mayor Mac Woodward and Judge Danny Pierce also spoke to those in attendance. Vietnam Veteran and Wounded Warrior Banquet board member Tom Fordyce spoke about his personal experiences at the Support Center. A fund raising auction was also held.

The guest speaker for the evening was retired Marine and senior pastor at the Fellowship of Huntsville Church, C. F. Hazelwood. Reverend Hazelwood talked about why our country is the greatest in the world.
