THE SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT CONTINUED THURSDAY FOR THE SAM HOUSTON STATE BEARKATS. HOWEVER, WHILE IT PITCHER Tyler Eppler HAD A GREAT OUTING, IT STILL WASN’T ENOUGH AS THE BEARKATS WERE SHUT OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON, LOSING TO SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA 1-0. EPPLER ALLOWED ONLY ONE RUN OVER 7 FRAMES. THE LOSS MEANS THAT THE KATS WILL HIT THE DIAMOND ONCE AGAIN THIS MORNING AT 9AM FOR AN ELIMINATION GAME AS THEY’LL FACE OFF AGAINST NORTHWESTERN STATE. THIS GAME WILL BE BROADCAST ON 104.9 THE HITS AND 1049THEHITS.COM.

NEWS FROM THE GRID-IRON THIS MORNING INVOLVING THE BEARKATS FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON. The Southland Conference BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAVE PASSED THE USE OF FULL NCAA INSTANT REPLAY FOR ALL GAMES, REGARDLESS OF TELEVISION COVERAGE, STARTING WITH THE 2014 SEASON. The Southland Conference is the first FCS league to fully commit to having all games utilize instant replay.
