A PUBLISHED REPORT IN TODAY’S TEMPLE DAILY TELEGRAM NEWSPAPER CLAIMS THAT RODNEY SOUTHERN WILL BE THE HORNET’S NEW COACH. ACCORDING TO THE REPORT, SOUTHERN, WHO FOR 7 YEARS HAS HELD THE HEAD COACHING JOB AT BELTON HIGH SCHOOL, CONFIRMED TO THE NEWSPAPER ON WEDNESDAY THAT HE WILL BE MOVING TO HUNTSVILLE TO TAKE OVER THE PROGRAM AT HHS. OFFICIALS WITH HUNTSVILLE ISD STRESS NO DECISION HAS YET BEEN MADE, WITH AN ANNOUNCEMENT IS EXPECTED TODAY SOMETIME AFTER NOON.

IN THE 1ST OF 5 CONSECUTIVE HOME DATES, THE BEARKAT WOMEN GET THE ACTION STARTED AT 5:30PM WITH LIVE COVERAGE ON 1049 THE HITS…..THEN ABOUT 30 MINUTES FOLLOWING THE CONCLUSION OF THE WOMEN’S GAME, THE SAM HOUSTON MEN WILL TEST THE ISLANDERS IN A GAME THAT PITS THE 2 TEAMS CURRENTLY TIED FOR 2ND PLACE IN THE CONFERENCE STANDINGS.
