A GROUP OF 4 HUNTSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT-ATHLETES SIGNED NATIONAL LETTERS-OF-INTENT WEDNESDAY TO CONTINUE THEIR ATHLETIC CAREERS ON THE COLLEGIATE LEVEL. HORNET FOOTBALL PLAYERS CODY GARCIA, MALIK BROWN & CHRISTIAN CHAMPINE, AND LADY HORNET GOLFER COURTNEY TIBILETTI ALL SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE. GARCIA WILL BE HEADED TO MIDWESTERN STATE, WHILE BROWN & CHAMPINE WILL PLAY FOR TARLETON STATE, AND TIBILETTI WILL SWING THE STICKS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON.

MEANWHILE, RECENTLY NAMED SHSU HEAD FOOTBALL COACH K.C. KEELER INTRODUCED A GROUP OF 13 PLAYERS ON SIGNING DAY. KEELER SAID THE GROUP WAS “DYNAMIC” IN SCOPE AND EXPECTS SOME OF THE PLAYERS TO BE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE RIGHT AWAY AS TRUE FRESHMEN.

IN BASEBALL TODAY, THE ALPHA OMEGA LIONS ARE SCHEDULED TO OPEN THEIR SEASON WITH A 3:30PM GAME AT ROSEHILL CHRISTIAN IN TOMBALL.

IN LOCAL TENNIS, THE HUNTSVILLE HORNETS & LADY HORNETS ARE SCHEDULED TO HOST THE COLLEGE STATION COUGARS & LADY COUGARS TODAY AT 3:30PM AT THE HUNTSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS COURTS.
