According to the website Everything Lubbock.com, TDCJ has reported that correctional officer Jason Self, who was injured in a bus crash near Penwell on January 14th, has now been released from Lubbock’s University Medical Center. Ten people died in the accident.

The report says Self has been “moved to a rehabilitation facility in Abilene to begin the next phase of the recuperation and healing process.”

Four TDCJ inmates injured in the bus crash, who were treated at the Medical Center in Odessa, have recovered enough to be put back into TDCJ facilities.

The National Transportation Safety Board continues their investigation of the accident.
