Ben Rhodes Absent from Oversight Committee Yesterday

The White House has said Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes would not be testifying before a House Oversight Committee yesterday about the Iran nuclear deal, referring to it as a “separation of powers” issue.

Recently in a New York Times Magazine profile, Rhodes was quoted in reference to the Iran nuclear deal that the White House had “created an echo chamber” to promote the deal by bringing along similarly-minded policy people and journalists to say “things that validated what we had given them to say.”

During the oversight committee hearing Tuesday, Florida congressman Ron DeSantis voiced his view on the conspicuous absence of Rhodes at the hearing . . . .
