Commissioners’ Court Meets

Walker County Commissioners will meet for a regular session this morning at nine at the courthouse.

County Budget presentations are planned between 9 AM and 4:30 this afternoon.

There are also several items on the commissioners’ “Statutory Agenda.”

They will consider approving funds from “Repairs and Upgrades–Major Buildings” to cover the cost of portable AC in multiple buildings in the County.

Walker County Emergency Management Coordinator Butch Davis will discuss approval of an internal repair order to Magnum Air for the Storm Shelter chiller with a no-exceed amount of $2,500.

Mr. Davis will update information on two disaster recovery periods.

County Purchasing Agent Mike Williford will talk about approval of a Siemens Access Security Safety Proposal for the Walker County Annex. Siemen’s Byron Dowdell will answer questions. Mr. Williford will discuss approval of McCaffety Electric performing additional elevator upgrades required for three County elevator modernizations to be paid from project funds for $24,000.

Commissioner White will talk about the placement or removal of signs regarding Penal Code 30.06 and .07 in the courthouse and all County buildings and approval or removal of the “No Knives, No Guns” signs on the courthouse lawn.

Commissioner Henry will discuss approval of an ice machine donated to the City of New Waverly, an Interlocal agreement between the County and ESD #2 for the leasing of an ambulance from ESD #2 and notification that Stubblefield Lake Road will be closed for repair from July11th through August 4th, or longer, weather permitting.
