In last night’s Walker County Primary Election, in the contested races, here are the unofficial results:
In the Sheriff’s race, incumbent Clint McRae wins with 76.43% of the vote, while opponent Paul Bruce received 23.57%.
In the race for Precinct #3 Commissioner, incumbent Bill Daugette won with 66.54% of the vote, while his opponent Lee Killingsworth came in with 33.46%.
The results of the District 12 State Representative local contest reveals Trey Wharton scored 50.18% of the vote, Ben Bius had 31.53% and John Harvey Slocum had 18.29% of the vote. District-wide, Trey Wharton had 35% of the vote, while Ben Bius had 32.7%. So, there will be a runoff.
Looking at the District 17 US Representative race locally, incumbent Pete Sessions had 82.83% of the vote, while opponent Joseph T. Langone came in with 17.17% of the vote. District-wide, Pete Sessions had 84.9% of the vote and Joseph Langone had 15.1%. So, Pete Sessions is the Republican challenger.
