White House Denies Revealing Classified Info

Published on May 16, 2017 by Larry Crippen

Monday, officials at the White House said the report in the Washington Post that President Trump revealed classified information in regard to ISIS to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was false.

The Post reported that officials told them that the president jeopardized an intelligence source on ISIS in his conversation with the visiting Russians.

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster and other officials say the accusation is false. The classified info is said to regard details regarding an ISIS terror threat related to bringing laptop computers on airplanes. The Post says the intelligence partner had not granted the U-S permission to share the info with the Russians.
