Forest Service Waives Fees for National Public Lands Day

Published on September 29, 2017 by Larry Crippen

Many recreation areas and other venues in the National Forest will be free to the public on Saturday, Sept. 30 in celebration of National Public Lands Day

U-S Forest Service Service Chief Tony Tooke says, “National Public Lands Day is a great opportunity for families to visit our national forests, experience the beginnings of fall, and perhaps be motivated to join in with other volunteers and help us restore America’s precious natural resources.”

Day-use fees will be waived at Sam Houston National Forest – Double Lake, Cagle Boat Ramp and Scott’s Ridge Boat Ramp.
