HISD Board Meets

Published on January 19, 2017 by Larry Crippen

January is School Board Recognition Month and Huntsville ISD joins other districts across the state to show appreciation and thanks to these local leaders for their dedication and willingness to serve as advocates for our children and public schools. As elected officials, they are the voice of their communities, serving first and foremost in the best interest of Texas schoolchildren.

The HISD Board of Trustees will meet for a regular session at six tonight at the Hawkins Administration Building.

Staff and students will be recognized for their achievements.

Dr. Rodriguez will make a special “Bright Spots” presentation.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes Board approval of adoption of a resolution recognizing February 1st through the 28th as National-Schools-to-Careers Month. It also includes approval of Amended T-TESS appraisers.

Tonight, Tracy Stoudt will deliver a report on the Board of Trustees Continuing Education Hours for 2016. Written reports to be accepted include reports on discipline, HISD Campus Principals’ reports and a Transportation of Students in Foster Care report.

Superintendent, Dr. Howell Wright, will present a report on partnerships.
