HISD Trustees will meet at six this evening in the Hawkins Administration Building.
The board will recognize students and staff for their achievements.
Items on tonight’s “Consent Agenda” include a resolution recognizing Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8th through 12th, and National Teacher Appreciation Day on May 9th. On the same agenda, trustees will consider a resolution for historic site property tax exemption of the Samuel Walker Houston Cultural Center and Museum, and approval of several other items: board meeting dates for 2017-18, the YMCA 2017 summer program agreement, the YMCA after-school program, participation in the Seamless Summer Option program and approval of the Child Nutrition Program meal price increase.
Assistant Superintendent of Business Administration, Kevin Stanford, will discuss the approval of the Texas Association of School Board Policy Service and the Child Nutrition Service Provider contract. Trustees will also consider approval of the External Financial Auditor.
Trustees will hear a YMCA After School Progam Financial Report and a report from Superintendent Wright on balanced literacy.
