Entergy’s Power To Care Program Kicked Off

Published on July 14, 2017 by Larry Crippen

Air conditioners are wonderful, but electric fans can be a great, inexpensive way to stay cooler on these long summer days.

ntergy Texas is sponsoring their 17th Annual Beat the Heat Fan Program. The program provides box fans to charitable, nonprofit agencies which, in turn, give them to their clients. This year, a total of 1,300 box fans will be distributed to almost 30 locations throughout the company’s service territory.

Since the program’s inception, the total of fans distributed to qualified customers is more than 19,300 fans. Deliveries throughout Southeast Texas will take place over the next two weeks. Distribution in Entergy’s western region includes: Huntsville, 55 fans, Trinity, 40 fans, Madisonville, 20 fans.

For customers struggling to pay their summer energy bills, Entergy helps low-income, disabled and elderly customers through its customer-assistance fund, The Power to Care, which is funded by Entergy employees, customers and shareholders.

n addition to The Power to Care, bill-payment assistance also is available through the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. In 2016, over $5 million in assistance was provided to more than 39,000 Entergy Texas customers through these programs. For more information, visit the Entergy Texas website.
