State Sales Tax Allocations

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $679.9 million in local sales tax allocations for July, 9 percent more than in July 2016. These allocations are based on sales made in May by businesses that report tax monthly.

Huntsville will receive $599,200 up 10.75% over 2016’s figure of $541,019. Huntsville is also up year-to-date 18.51% over last year. In 2016 the city received $4,532,856 for this time compared to $5,372,137 year-to-date in 32017.

New Waverly also saw a hefty increase of 55.32% this reporting period over 2016 with a check of $43,901 compared to $28,264. Year-to-date New Waverly is up slightly at 2.3%.

Riverside showed a gain of 13.77 percent this period but a half percent decline for the year-to-date number.
