MLK Day Celebrated in Huntsville Monday

A big crowd showed up at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center to celebrate his legacy.

HISD Superintendent Dr. Howell Wright paid tribute to King in influencing education in his “Welcome” speech . . . .


Mayor Andy Brauninger spoke to the crowd about King . . . .


And, Reverend Roland Craig Oliphant.  Well, he just preached . . . .


The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15th, 1929 and died from an assassin’s bullet on April 4th, 1968 in Memphis. At the age of 35, he was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
