Published on June 30, 2017 by Larry Crippen

Walker County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jon Beeman and his K9 partner Akie uncovered large quantity of cocaine, heroin and U.S currency during a recent traffic stop.

On June 28th,  Deputy Beeman conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 45 North at mile post 115 for a Traffic Violation.

Upon contacting the driver and occupants, they appeared nervous and had conflicting stories and granted Deputy Beeman consent to search the vehicle.

Deputy Beeman located a hidden compartment and discovered 15 pounds of powder cocaine, half pound of heroin (narcotics approximately street value of $130,000) and $128,222.00 in U.S. currency.

Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae advises that he is very proud of the work conducted by Deputy Beeman in this case.
