IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL, THE WINNING BEAT GOES ON FOR THE SHSU BEARKATS WHO REGISTERED A 3-2 VICTORY OVER STEPHEN F. AUSTIN ON THURSDAY IN NACOGDOCHES. THE WIN IMPROVED THE KATS SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE RECORD TO 13-&-0, AND EXTENDED THEIR LEAGUE-RECORD WINNING STREAK TO 18 DATING BACK TO LAST SEASON. THE KATS & LUMBERJACKS WILL MEET TODAY AT 2PM FOR THE SECOND GAME OF THEIR 3-GAME SET WITH THE SERIES WRAPPING UP ON SATURDAY AT 1PM.

THINGS DIDN’T QUITE GO AS HOPED THURSDAY FOR THE SHSU BEARKAT WOMEN’S BOWLING TEAM. OPENING COMPETITION IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT IN BATON ROUGE, LA., THE KATS WON JUST 1 OF 5 MATCHES. DAY 2 OF THE TOURNAMENT IS SET FOR TODAY AT 9AM.

IN SOFTBALL TODAY, THE SHSU BEARKAT WOMEN WILL BE AT HOME FOR A DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST TEXAS A&M-CORPUS CHRISTI. THE KATS WILL BATTLE THE ISLANDERS BEGINNING AT 3PM, WITH THE FINAL GAME OF THE 3-GAME SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE SERIES SET FOR SATURDAY. ALL GAME WILL BE PLAYED AT THE BEARKAT SOFTBALL COMPLEX.

IN TENNIS TODAY, THE SHSU BEARKAT WOMEN WILL BE IN LOUISIANA TO TEST NEW ORLEANS IN A 2PM SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE MATCH-UP.
