Hunger Strike at TDCJ’s Allred Unit in Iowa Park

Several offenders at a North Texas TDCJ Unit are on a hunger strike.

TDCJ spokesperson Robert Hurst filled us in on what was happening there on Tuesday . . . .

 

The Iowa Park facility houses around 3,700 offenders and houses one of the system’s largest groups of administrative segregation populations. Administrative segregation is a kind of isolation for offenders that are categorized as a security risk or danger to others.
