The “Hornet Buddies” program is looking for new members. The “Hornet Buddies” consist of Huntsville ISD students from kindergarten through 6th grade who support as a group the Huntsville Hornet football team. Enrollment fee is $25 per member. The 4th annual “Great Muddy Escape” is set for Oct. 25 at Gen. Sam’s Off-Road Park. This adventure race is a way to promote health & fitness for the Huntsville & Walker County communities, and is a fundraiser for the Huntsville Family YMCA and for the Huntsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. The Department of Art at SHSU invites you the opening of “Anything That Has A Front” – an exhibition featuring works by Avril Lavery & Christopher Lavery. The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its next free banking seminar beginning at 7:45am Sept. 17. This edition of the seminar will focus on electronic/digital banking. The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its 1st “Little Mr. & Miss Fair-on-the-Square” contest. The contest is open to children ages 5 through 7 who are residents of Walker County. The Huntsville Community Theatre will present its production of the classic tale of “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.” Performances are set for Sept. 19 -21 & Sept. 26-28. The Gulf Coast Trades Center will host its 1st “Tournament of Tomorrow” golf tournament beginning with a shotgun start at 9am Sept. 19. Huntsville’s chapter of “Habitat for Humanity” will host a benefit concert beginning at 3pm Sept. 21. The event will take place at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 190 East.
