Walker County Beekeepers School for Beginning Beekeeping

Free Personal Income-Tax Assistance

IRS certified tax-aide counselors offering free personal income-tax assistance beginning February 5th at University Heights Baptist Church on Sycamore Avenue in Huntsville.  The service will continue from 9am-1pm, Thursdays and Fridays through April 10th.  1st come, 1st served.  For details, call 295-2996.

The library has re-designed its web page to make finding information quicker & more efficient, as well as adding a calendar of events on the front page. The library’s Facebook page provides clips about program & events along with pictures, news & information relevant to the local community. Wynne Home Arts Center- Dry Goods: The Quilts of Mary Laura Gibbs

Huntsville Family YMCA- Special Needs Competition T-Ball/Coach-Pitch Baseball League

March 11 - March 27

The Huntsville Family YMCA is beginning a “Special Needs Competition T-Ball/Coach-Pitch Baseball League.” The league is designed for girls & boys who have intellectual and/or physical disabilities rendering them unable to compete in traditional sports. The league is open to children 4 years & up. Cost is $30 – which includes a jersey, a hat and a post-season trophy. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify. Head Start Child Development Center accepting applications for 2015-16

Wynne Home Arts Center spring classes

March 16 - April 25

Huntsville’s Wynne Home Arts Center will host a variety of spring classes beginning Monday.  Classes will be offered in collage, photography, ceramics, creative writing, Mommy & me, bilingual crafts for kds, science experiments, watercolor portraits, environmental art, silk painting, movie literacy, & ceramics open studio. Alicia Rolland Memorial Fund-Barrel Racing, Bulldogging and Roping

A barrel racing, bulldogging & roping event is set to help raise funds for the Alicia Rolland Memorial Fund which is designed to help raise funds for breast cancer research. The event is set for March 27-29 at the Cowboy Country Outdoor Arena on FM 247 north of Huntsville. Silent auctions will also take place on the 28th & 29th.
