Huntsville’s Wynne Home Arts Center is hosting its “fall pottery open studio” each Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday through Dec. 12. Participants may pay a fee of $10 per session to use the pottery studio. Clay may be purchased at the rate of $5 for 3 pounds. The Huntsville Lions Club invites you and/or your organization, civic club and/or church to consider an entry in the Lions’ annual Christmas Parade. The event is set for 7pm Dec. 7 with a route through downtown Huntsville. Entry fees through 5pm Dec. 4 are $30 each. An additional $5 fee will be added beginning Dec. 5. Members of Huntsville’s Boy Scout Troop No. 98 will once again be selling live Christmas trees for the holiday season. The trees will once again be available in the parking lot of the Brookshire Brothers store on 11th Street at Normal Park. The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual “Starry Night Gala” on Dec. 12. The event – which will include a silent & live auction – will take place in the Lowman Student Center Ballroom of the SHSU campus in Huntsville. The Huntsville Family YMCA is currently registering children for its winter sports programs. Youth basketball is for children ages 3 to 12, while youth volleyball is designed for kids ages 6 to 14.
