The Polk County District Attorney’s office will host its 5th annual 5k, 10k & Kids Fun Run beginning with 7:15am registration April 19. The event will take place at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation on Highway 190 east of Livingston. Prizes will be awarded in several categories for males & females. The Sam Houston Memorial Museum’s Walker Education Center will host an exhibit called “Lost & Found In Texas.” The exhibit will feature works by artist Derrick Birdsall, and will open May 16 with an opening reception from 4:30-6pm. The American Legion Auxiliary of Huntsville’s Post No. 95 will host an Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 11am April 19. The event will take place on the grounds of the Legion on American Legion Drive just off FM 2821. Children are asked to supply their own basket. The Walker County Area Go-Texan committee will host its annual Crawfish Boil & Catfish Fry beginning at 5pm May 3. Food will be served from 5 to 7 with all-you-can-eat crawfish, catfish, potatoes, corn & fries. Music & dancing will take place from 8-10pm. The event will take place at the Walker County Fairgrounds. Pre-sale tickets only….no tickets will be available at the door. Ticket prices are $35 for individuals while a table of 8 is available for $250. Funds raised will be used to help provide scholarships for the youth of Walker County. This will be a B-Y-O-B event.
