Volunteers needed- Gen. Sam Houston Folk Festival

February 27 - March 31

Volunteers are being sought to participate as an historical costumed character during this year’s 30th anniversary edition of the 3-day Gen. Sam Houston Folk Festival. Volunteers of all ages are welcome – no experience is necessary. The 1st informational meeting is set for 6pm Thursday in the Walker Education Center on 19th Street in Huntsville. Huntsville Youth Football League

Online registration is underway for the fall season of the Huntsville Youth Football League. The online registration will continue through July 1. Bearkat Football 2017 Season Tickets Now Available

Season tickets for the upcoming season of SHSU Bearkat football are now on sale – and all 2016 season-ticket holders receive 1st priority to renew their same seat. Obtaining season tickets also guarantees priority to purchase your same seat for any NCAA playoff games hosted at Bowers Stadium, and guarantees the opportunity to purchase a like amount of tickets for the FCS national championship game. A Fresh Start to a Healthier You

Due to popular demand, the Huntsville Public Library is bring back its “A Fresh Start to a Healthier You” class. YMCA/SHSU Bearkats Flag Football Clinic

The Huntsville Family YMCA – in conjunction with the Southland Conference football champion SHSU Bearkats – will bring the children of the Huntsville area an experience of a lifetime. The ‘Y’s Flag Football clinic with the Bearkats is set for 4:30-6:30pm Tuesday, as well as March 23, 28 & 30 at the Mafrige Field House next to Bowers Stadium on the university campus. Free 5-week Citizenship Preparation Course

The Huntsville Public Library – in conjunction with SHSU’s Law, Engagement & Politics Center – will host a free 5-week “Citizenship Preparation Course.” The course is designed to prepare immigrants for the U.S. Naturalization test and will cover the application process, along with an oral interview & exam. 2017 Walker County Fair & Pro Rodeo Parade

HCC- Mama Don’t Fly

March 31 - April 8

The Huntsville Community Theatre will present its productions of “Mama Don’t Fly.” Performances are set for 7:30pm March 31, April 1 and April 7 & 8, with 2pm matinee performances set for April 2 & 9. All performances will take place at the Old Town Theatre on 12th Street in downtown Huntsville. Ticket prices range from $6 to $12.
