Boys & Girls Club of Walker County- Summer Camp

May 30 @ 7:30 am - August 11 @ 5:30 pm

Registration is underway for the summer camp operated by the Boys & Girls Club of Walker County. The camp is set for May 30 through Aug. 11 from 7:30am-5:30pm on weekdays. The club provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. For more information call (936) 291-6054.

Wynne Home- Butterflies & Pendelums

Huntsville’s Wynne Home Arts Center invites you to its current exhibit “Butterflies & Pendelums.”  The exhibit features watercolors by well-known Houston artist Arthur Turner.  The exhibition will be on display through July 29. 2017 New Teacher Welcome Packets

June 16 - July 21

The Education Committee of the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will once again prepare “Welcome Packets” for all the new teachers in all Walker County public & private schools for the 2017 fall semester. Donated items could include – but not be limited to – coupons, gift certificates, pens & pencils, note pads, etc. Donations should be delivered to the chamber by July 21. SHSU Art Dept- Summer Art Camps

June 19 - July 28

The SHSU Art Department will offer a couple of camps for students – and a camp for art educators – this summer. The “Animation Creation” camp is set for June 19-23, while the “Art on the Edge” camp is scheduled for July 24-28. For art educators, the “Summer Studio Intensive Camp” is planned for July 9-13. Mudcats & Dogtrots: A Reprisal

Huntsville’s Sam Houston Memorial Museum will feature an exhibit called:  “Mudcats & Dogtrots: A Reprisal.” The exhibit is set for July 5 through Aug. 27, and will be on display in the Exhibit Gallery of the Walker Education Center on 19th Street. The Huntsville Lions Club has served Huntsville & the Walker County area for more than 65 years, and the club’s “Flag Project” has been a local tradition for many of those years.
