City of Huntsville/Roberts Aquatic Center- Water Aerobics Classes

April 13

Join the City of Huntsville at the Roberts Aquatic Center for the return of “water aerobics.” Classes will take place Mondays through Wednesdays from 8-9am, and Mondays through Thursdays from 8-9pm. Participants must be at least 18. There is a $55 fee for the year – or a day pass may be purchased for $4. Classes will being April 13. Registration is necessary before classes begin. Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce Lunch & Learn with Coach Matt Deggs

The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host another in its series of “Lunch & Learn” programs. The guest speaker will be 1st-year SHSU Head Baseball Coach Matt Deggs. The event is set for 11:30am April 13 – and will take place at the Huntsville Church of Christ on Highway 30 West. Cost for the program & lunch is $15. City of Huntsville/Texas Parks & Wildlife- Outdoor Explorer Program

April 18 - September 19

The City of Huntsville will once again join with Texas Parks & Wildlife for another series of “Outdoor Explorer” programs. You are invited to learn basic safety for biking, hiking & kayaking during the programs which will take place at Huntsville State Park. C-A-S-A 15-hour pre-service training

April 21

C-A-S-A – Court Appointed Special Advocates – of Walker, San Jacinto & Trinity counties will offer 15-hour pre-service training beginning April 21. The agency trains volunteers to serve as advocates for neglected, abused and abandoned children who are placed in the foster-care system. Deadline for signing up for training is set for April 9. Walker County’s Head Start & Early Head Start 10th annual Field Day

Walker County’s Head Start & Early Head Start Child Development Centers are currently seeking sponsors for the 10th annual “Field Day.” The event is set for 9am-1pm April 24. The Field Day gives children the opportunity to display teamwork and their athletic ability while having fun. Senior Center of Walker County 1st Texas 42 Domino Tournament

April 25

The Senior Center of Walker County will host its 1st “Texas 42 Domino Tournament” with check-in at 9am and the 1st round beginning at 10am April 25. Deadline to enter the event is 2pm April 10. However, walk-ups will be welcome the day of the tournament. The tournament is limited to the 1st 40 teams. Registration fee is $25 per person. For more information call 295-6151.

Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit & Run

April 25 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The City of Huntsville invites boys & girls ages 7-14 to compete in Major League Baseball’s “Pitch, Hit & Run” program. Youngsters will have the opportunity to showcase their baseball or softball skills and attempt to advance to the sectional, regional & national competitions at no charge. 2nd annual Mother of Pearl Brunch & Service Auction

Huntsville’s Junior Service League will host its 2nd annual “Mother of Pearl Brunch & Service Auction” for women, their moms & loved ones. Huntsville Police Officers Association- 1st Annual Five-0 5K/1-Mile Run

May 2 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Huntsville Police Officers Association – in conjunction with the Inspector General Employee Foundation – will host its 1st “Five-0 5K/1-Mile Run” – a police-themed obstacle course/color run. The event is set for 9am May 2 at Kate Barr Ross Park next to the City of Huntsville Service Center on Highway 75 North. Entry fees range from $15 to $35. Refreshments will be served.
