Monetary donations are being sought to help fund the “Project After Prom” event for local high school seniors. The event is set for April 12. Donations will be used to help provide a safe alcohol-free locations for students and their dates to celebrate following the prom. In-kind donations for refreshments & prizes will also be accepted. Registration is underway for the upcoming season of the Huntsville Family YMCA’s T-Ball & Coach-Pitch Baseball. The program is open to kids ages 4 through 8. Registration fee is $75 per player – financial assistance is available for families who qualify. Games begin in April. The deadline for registration is March 21. The Polk County District Attorney’s office will host its 5th annual 5k, 10k & Kids Fun Run beginning with 7:15am registration April 19. The event will take place at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation on Highway 190 east of Livingston. Prizes will be awarded in several categories for males & females. “Mutton Bustin” is returning to the 2014 Walker County Fair. The event is open to kids ages 4 through 6, and will take place in the fairgrounds livestock arena from 4-6pm April 5.
