Members of Huntsville’s Boy Scout Troop No. 98 will once again be selling live Christmas trees for the holiday season. The trees will once again be available in the parking lot of the Brookshire Brothers store on 11th Street at Normal Park. Huntsville’s Rita B. Huff Animal Shelter will host an “open house” featuring half-price adoptions. The event is set for 11am to 3pm Dec. 14 & 15. Adoptions will be priced at $42.50 and include 1st shot, wormer, spay/neuter, rabies vaccine and microchip. The shelter is located on Bearkat Boulevard just north of Bowers Stadium. Employees of Huntsville ISD are conducting a food drive to help support Huntsville’s Good Shepherd Mission. Donations of canned goods or non-perishable items may be dropped off at the district’s Hawkins Administration Building on FM 2821 near Huntsville High School. The drive continues through Dec. 19. Huntsville Head Start is seeking individuals who would consider adopting a needy family for Christmas. Head Start has a multitude of client families who otherwise will have no way to provide their children with Christmas gifts, and who need assistance with purchasing family groceries during the holiday season.
