You can learn to square dance with the Huntsville Promenaders’ “Fun Nights.” The events are set for 7-8pm Sept. 23 & 30. The program is open to high schoolers through adults. The program will take place at the Walker County Storm Shelter on Highway 75 North in Huntsville. The Walker County Master Gardeners organization will host its 5th annual “Butterfly Festival & Fall Plant Sale” from 8am to 2pm Oct. 18. There will be a variety of activities for children & adults. The plant sale will feature an extensive selection of natives, fruit & nut trees, roses, perennials, shade-loving varieties, herbs, day lillies and a wide variety of seeds. The City of Huntsville’s Recreation Services Department – along with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department – invites you to his year’s final session of the Outdoor Explorer program at Huntsville State Park. You’re encouraged to attend the session which is set for Sept. 20 to learn about hiking, biking and kayaking. Park entrance is $5 for adults, and free for those 12 & under.
