Doc Holiday is no stranger to Huntsville, having lived here and worked at KSAM on and off since 1993. Nearly 20 years have gone by since Doc began his radio career. He started out working weekends at KIOX-Bay City. He soon moved into a full-time position as morning host.
What did Doc do before he was in radio? He was a professional musician for 19 years, playing all over the world, and spending time touring with country music outlaw David Allan Coe. "Sometimes I miss those days. With what I've been through, I'm surprised I still remember those days!" he said. Music, especially country music, has been and always will be a large part of Doc's life. "There was a song that was recorded by a friend of mine that has a line that says, 'I'll always belong to a honky tonk song, me and the boys in the band..." That's Doc!
You can enjoy Doc's drums Sunday mornings at University Heights Baptist Church!
