Konner Tucker scored a season high 22 points to lead Sam Houston to an 82-63 non-conference men’s basketball victory over Dallas Christian Tuesday night at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
Demarcus Gatlin added 14 points and Marcus James and Aaron Harwell each scored 10 for the Bearkats as they ended a five-game losing streak. All those losses were on the road as the Kats stand 2-0 for the year in Johnson Coliseum.
Malcolm McCarty led the Crusaders with 25 points.
Sam Houston (2-5) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first four minutes and built a 21-point lead at halftime, 47-26, with 57.1 per cent shooting in the opening period (16-of-28).

The Bearkats led by as many as 27 points in the second half. Michael Holyfield and Darius Gatson each scored eight points and Wesley Fritz scored six. James led the Bearkats with eight rebounds as SHSU out-boarded Dallas Christian 34 to 28.
