The Huntsville City Council will hold a workshop at five this afternoon at City Hall. From 5 to 8 PM there will be presentations by firms seeking to assist the City in their search for a permanent city manager. The work session will be recorded for later presentation on the City’s website. A special session of the council is planned for June 26th where the council may select a firm.
The regular City Council session begins at 8 this evening.
Tonight’s Statutory Agenda includes the possible approval of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of City of Huntsville General Obligation Refunding Bonds. The statutory agenda also includes possible action on directing the staff to initiate procedures for annexation of territory within the City’s extraterritorial jurisdiction to include the proposed SHSU technology park.
During the Mayor-City Council-City Manager’s Report, there will be discussion on the selection of a city manager, discussion and possible action on the Fiscal Year 2012-13 Budget, discussion of the HISD Bring Your Own Technology initiative, and discussion of the Pride Points Customer Contact Program.
The interim city manager will also file his regular reports.
