Walker County Commissioners meet this morning at the Courthouse for a special session at nine.
Several departments or organizations will be making their budget presentations for fiscal year 2012-13, including Emergency Services District #2, CASA, Constable Precinct #4,and the Rita B. Huff Animal Shelter.
Purchasing agent Linda Mckenzie will discuss for possible approval awarding a Request for Proposal for Construction Management at Risk Services for the Walker County Jail Project to Sedalco Construction Services and approval of a construction management contract. She will also talk about approval for the purchase of shelving for the Emergency Management Storage Building from Office Depot for $4,856 dollars.
County Clerk Kari French will discuss approval of allocation of PC replacement monies in the County Clerk’s budget to be used for printers and scanners.
County Auditor Patricia Allen will talk about additional funding for tree removal with funding to come from contingency emergency funds.
Walker County Judge Danny Pierce will take a look at the imposition of optional fees for vehicle registration, whether reinstituing the burn ban is necessary, and the possible approval of the purchase of 12.6 acres of land from TDCJ at a cost of $157,500 dollars to build a new county jail.
Commissioners will also have a Budget Workshop.
