Jason Aldean dreamed of playing on historic baseball fields like Fenway Park and Wrigley Field as a child and now his dream is coming true – just with a guitar instead of a baseball bat. He announced Thursday that he will play concerts at both Fenway Park and Wrigley Field this summer, reports the Washington Post.

“I have a love of baseball and a love of music,” Jason said from Wrigley Field. “To kind of combine those two — not just playing any stadium but a historic stadium like this that has so much history — to me it’s just unbelievable.”

Jason made the first part of what turned into a three-part announcement after teasing fans all week that something ‘ground-breaking’ was coming on Thursday following the release of his new album, Night Train, on October 16. His July 13 date at Fenway Park will mark the first stop of his 2013 tour as well as the first country concert to ever take place at the Green Monster.

Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino was on hand at Fenway to help Jason make the day’s first concert announcement. Red Sox players David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Jarrod Saltalamacchia welcomed Jason to their field by video and Jason ended his time at Fenway by signing the wall inside the scoreboard alongside historic players like Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio.

“Being the first country music artist to ever come here and headline a show is amazing,” Jason said before hopping on a plane to his next announcement. “It’s going to be a fun night. Over the last several years, my career, especially the touring side of that, has been pretty amazing. It’s been growing. So thank you guys for having us. I can’t wait for July 13.”

Jason was greeted at Wrigley field for announcement No. 2 of the day by wind, rain and cold. The Cubs gave him a blue team hoodie to wear for his Chicago reveal. Word had already leaked about his show and several fans stood outside the field hoping for a glimpse of Jason. The Wrigley Field concert will take place July 20.

Jason ended his day of announcements in Athens, Georgia where he revealed during a pep rally at the University of Georgia that he will play UGA’s Sanford Stadium on April 13. He’ll be joined by Luke Bryan, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.  Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will join Jason for his show at Fenway Park and Kelly Clarkson, Jake and Thomas will take the stage with him at Wrigley Field.
