Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus is no stranger to the radio as an artist, but now he’s set to try his hand as a radio host. Jay is launching his own weekly radio program on Big Machine Radio’s Clear Channel iHeartRadio station, reports Music Row.

The Jay DeMarcus Show: Live From Flatts Shack will premiere June 28 at 4 p.m. Central with appearances by Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and songwriter James Slater. Jay’s wife, music journalist Allison DeMarcus, will deliver entertainment reports each week.

“I’ve been trying to get Jay in front of a microphone for some time now,” Clay Hunnicutt, Clear Channel SVP/Programming ,said. “His natural ability to hold court—and tell compelling stories in the process—makes him the perfect fit for a format such as this.”

iHeartRadio is Clear Channel’s digital listening service with free access to more than 1,000 live broadcast and digital-only radio stations from 150 cities. The service also offers user-created Custom Stations. You can check out Big Machine Radio HERE.

Rascal Flatts just kicked off their Changed Tour with Little Big Town, Eli Young Band and Edens Edge. You can watch their latest video, “Banjo,” here.
