Ever wanted Ronnie Milsap to record one of your songs? Here’s your chance! Ronnie and American Songwriter have announced the Milsap’s Country Cut contest. The contest will give an aspiring songwriter the chance to have their song recorded by Ronnie for his upcoming album, due out this fall.
“This really opens it up to receive material from a broader range of songwriters, different than what Ronnie would’ve normally been pitched going into the recording of a new album,” Creative Director John Ritchie said. “We’re going to find an amazing song.”
“Knowing the American Songwriter audience, we should be able to find some fantastic songs,” Ken Madson, President of Average Joe’s Management said. “We have a great group of judges who will help narrow the field of hits for Ronnie to pick from.”
The deadline for songs to be heard is August 10. Submission fees are $20 for the first song and $10 for each additional song. Each submission will include a signed copy of the new album from Ronnie. American Songwriter and a panel of industry professionals will listen to every song submitted and narrow them down to 25 finalists. Ronnie will then choose the winning song to cut.
