A Walker County grand jury has indicted 47-year-old George Alfred Vanschenck for the first-degree aggravated robbery of First Financial Bank in Huntsville on March 2nd. Vanschenck, a parolee from New York residing in New Waverly, allegedly walked into the bank on Highway 75 North and handed a note to a teller demanding money and threatening to blow-up the bank. He ran out of the bank and south on 75 with $3,795 dollars of the bank’s money. Vanschenck was later found hiding in the men’s locker room of a local health club and arrested. A duffle bag containing the money was found. No explosives were found in the area of a nearby creek where witnesses had seem him earlier.
Also, 42-year-old Christopher Ralph Kronshagen from Conroe was indicted for the aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old child in regard to an incident that happened in northeast Walker County near Riverside on June 23rd of last year. In communication with the vicitim over the internet, Kronshagen pretended to be a 17-year-old male. He eventually showed up at the girl’s house, and she sneaked out to meet him. Legal authorities say Kronshagen forced her into his vehicle and sexually assaulted her. He could receive a life sentence for the crime.
