SAAFE House Crawfest Raises Largest Profit in their History

Published on June 25, 2012 by Larry Crippen

The 7th Annual SAAFE House Crawfest was a huge success, raising the largest profit in its history with a sell-out crowd. Over $44,000 was raised thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the community. The SAAFE House Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers worked together for this event and are all grateful for the success. As the number and needs of SAAFE House clients has increased, so has the cost of operations, and some of the grant funding in the past is now unavailable.

The Title Sponsor, Weisner-Huntsville, was the largest donor. Another great factor was the underwriting of an Alumacraft boat given away at the event. Corporate Sponsors First Financial Bank and Team Dodge, along with Huntsville ATV & Marine and Marsh Miller, DDS, made it possible. SAAFE House Board member and FFB Cashier/EVP Michelle Murray was the driving force behind this effort that brought in about $8,200 in ticket sales. Mr. Matt Morris was the winner of the boat and was present to take home his prize.

Other Corporate Sponsors included 101.7 KSAM & 104.9 The Hits, Texas Best Concrete, The Huntsville Item, J. Paxton Adams, Independence Firearms, and Bayes Achievement. There were many other special donors.
