Published on September 17, 2013 by Larry Crippen

The Huntsville City Council meets tonight at 6 at City Hall.

The council will hold a public hearing to receive input regarding the Fiscal Year 2013-14 Annual Budget.

Several items are on the “Statutory Agenda” for councilmembers to consider acting on. Councilmembers will consider approval of a decision package relating to the Main Street Program and the Wynne Home Arts Center. They may take a record vote adopting the 2013-14 Annual Budget. If the budget is passed, they will vote on the 2013-14 tax rate. Councilmembers may authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Santek for the tansfer of solid waste materials and an interlocal agreement with Polk County. They’ll consider an engineering contract with Dunham Engineering for design, bid, and inspection services for $70,000 for rehabilitation of two half-million gallon water tanks. Councilmembers will also have a third reading amending a noise ordinance.

Tonight councilmembers may act to start the process for a name change for Legion Road to Gordon Street from residents’ requests.

City Manager Matt Benoit may also file his update.
