The Huntsville City Council will meet for a regular session at six this evening at City Hall.
Previous to the council meeting, there will be a workshop at five on Harnessing Huntsville’s Potential.
Deputy City Secretary Kristin Edwards will give a presentation on Public Information Strategy. An audit report will also be presented.
There will be a public hearing on an ordinance to amend the Huntsville Development Code.
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes approval of the ordinance amending the Development Code and approval of the award of a bid for the Safe Routes to School Project.
The council will look at a budget amendment that would change the classification of employees for the City who appealed under an implementation called “Step and Grade.” The City would transfer $10,300 dollars of money from the general, water, solid waste, and street funds to adjust benefits and salaries for employees who had appeals approved by the City Manager.
Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes poossible approval of the 2011-2012 audit, the 1st reading of an ordinance creating a Municipal Setting Designation located near the intersection of Avenue I and South Sam Houstohn Avenue, possible action to enter into a participation agreement with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the possible purchase of software and maintenance of HVAC for the Huntsville Public Library, and an ordinance updating the Employee Policy Procedure Manual.
