By voting on a number of related agenda items, city councilmembers on Tuesday night merged the Beautification Board into the Parks and Recreation Board.
Mayor Mac Woodward said, “The only activity that the Beautification Committee does is hold the golf tournament in the spring, and the proceeds of that buy, basically, wildflowers that we plant in our parks and our right-of-ways. That’s the one function.”
Mayor Woodward laid out the plan for merging . . . .
So, Tuesday night councilmembers approved nominating David Hastings for an open position on the Cemetery Committee; adopting a resolution to increase the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board to eleven members; and, nominating Kevin Edney and Conrad Liles to added positions on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.
