Kacey Musgraves Parks Trailer at Top of Albums Chart

Published on March 30, 2013 by CMT News

Kacey Musgraves
Just as suspected, Kacey Musgraves bullets to the top of Billboard‘s
country albums chart this week with her roundly praised Same Trailer Different Park. Nielsen SoundScan says she sold
43,496 copies her first turn out.

Blake Shelton‘s got nothing
to complain about, either, as his “Sure Be Cool If You
Did”
spends its second week at No. 1 on the country airplay rankings.

Four other albums besides Musgraves’ debuted
this week: Kyle Park’s Beggin’ for More (No. 24), Icon: Chris
Cagle
(No. 48), Icon: Trace Adkins (No. 55) and Country:
Willie Nelson
(No. 70).

(They’re practically microwaving
icons these days, aren’t they?)

Ryan Bingham‘s Tomorrowland
returns at No. 75.

There are four new songs to herald, as well, notably: Phil
Vassar
‘s “Love Is Alive” (No. 49 — and, no, it’s not a cover of the Judds
1985 hit), Jon Pardi‘s “Up All Night” (No. 52), Lonestar‘s
“Maybe Someday” (No. 58) and Luke Bryan‘s “Buzzkill” (No. 59).

Re-entering
the chart are Katie Armiger‘s “Playin’ With Fire” (No. 57) and Big Rich‘s “Cheat on You” (No. 60).

Lined up directly behind
Musgraves within the Top 5 albums cluster are Bryan’s Spring Break … Here to Party, Florida
Georgia Line
‘s Here’s to the Good Times, Taylor Swift‘s
Red and Little Big Town‘s Tornado, in that order.

The
No. 2 through No. 5 songs are Hunter Hayes“Somebody’s
Heartbreak,”
Lee Brice‘s “I
Drive Your Truck,”
Lady Antebellum‘s “Downtown”
and Carrie Underwood‘s “Two
Black Cadillacs.”
