out of the spotlight.)

Everybody wins? Nobody loses? Why did I feel like I watched a kindergarten soccer game instead
of American Idol? During last week’s results show, there was a much-touted surprise in the last two minutes. It was
this: All four contestants were safe, and they would all get to stay through this week. But isn’t that just postponing the
inevitable sadness? I am going to hate to see any of the fab four girls go home, but then part of me wants to just get it
over with. Since the judges didn’t use the “save” this season, they have an extra week in the schedule.

Had a girl
been voted off last week, it’s hard to say who it might have been, although Nashville’s Kree Harrison did get some harsh criticism.
Keith Urban went on and on about breaking hearts after she did “It Hurts So Bad” by Susan
Tedeschi. “You can all sing. That’s kind of a given now,” Urban told Harrison. “But the big thing we’re coming down to is
the freakin’ emotion — like the actual guttural shredding and feeling and rawness in a song. If you’re gonna do a song like
that, you’ve gotta leave nothing on the table. You’ve got to pour your heart out. You can’t just let your vocal do it. It’s
not enough. You’ve gotta make my heart break.”

What’s going to break my heart — and maybe even Urban’s —
is if Harrison doesn’t win American Idol.
