Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted in favor of a bill to suspend the debt ceiling through May 18th. The bill had bipartisan support and passed 285 to 144.
There is a provision in the bill focused on forcing Democrats in the Senate to adopt a budget for the first time in four years. If they do not come up with a budget, the provision witholds pay for members.
