Judge Keeling Declares Mistrial in Falk Case

Monday in Bryan, 278th District Judge Kenneth Keeling declared a mistrial in the capital murder case of John Ray Falk Jr. He said the jury had been out too long to be impartial. In December, closing arguments in the case were put on hold because of appeals court involvement.

Falk is accused of being an accomplice in the death of TDCJ officer Susan Canfield during an escape in 2007.

Walker County District Attorney David Weeks commented on the action . . . .
