At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, January 13th, Huntsville Police Officers responded to a shooting call at a local apartment complex located in the 2400 block of Montgomery Road. Upon investigation, officers determined that an Aggravated Assault had occurred. Three or four suspects, at least one of which had a handgun, entered a residence and ordered the occupants to the ground. The suspects went through the residence looking through cabinets and drawers in an apparent attempt to locate items to steal. During the incident, the suspects shot one of the occupants in the right upper-leg area. Other occupants were struck with either fists, or possibly a gun, causing moderate injuries.
Because of the suspects’ use of a deadly weapon in this crime, the offense is enhanced to an Aggravated Robbery.
The victim of the shooting was transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston via Lifeflight and was in stable condition. The other injured victims were treated and released at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. It is believed the suspects were driving a blue Volkswagen 4-door vehicle, possibly a Passat, with a spare “donut” tire and wheel.
The Huntsville Police Department is asking for help from the community in solving this crime. They are asking that anyone with information regarding this offense contact the Huntsville Police Department or Crimestoppers. You can call Crime Stoppers at 294-9494.
